This timeless tea takes its name from Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey, who was the British Prime Minister from 1830 to 1834. Thought to be a hybrid of lemon and bitter orange, bergamot is a small sweet green citrus fruit with a heady fragrance and a powerful floral character. It’s frequently used in perfumes and aromatherapy oils, as well as giving Earl Grey its signature charm.
